Step 5:  Create the Pirouette Database

From the start screen, right-click ‘Command Prompt’ and select ‘Run as administrator’.

Make sure the ‘BackupLocation’ specified in the Pirouette.conf exists.

Type:

pirouette register modules default

Type ‘y’ and press enter when prompted ‘Database Pirouette does not exist.  Do you want to create it? (y/n)?’

Note – it is normal to see the warning ‘Caution: Changing any part of an object name could break scripts and stored procedures.’  This happens when we rename old fields.

The ‘Pirouette create’ command will create the database, tables, and default data fields, register the Pirouette templates and modules, and apply any updates to the software.  The process will take a few minutes.
